BENDE, ABIA STATE — The IYOM Ugwueke, the umbrella body of women in Ugwueke Community, Bende Local Government Area of Abia State, has declared its continued support for Labour Party chieftain and candidate for Bende Federal Constituency, Dr. Chima Anyaso, ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The women made their position known on Saturday during their August Meeting, where Anyaso was hosted as a special guest.
In a symbolic demonstration of appreciation for his longstanding support and goodwill toward the community, the women presented him with a giant goat.
Speaking at the event, the women commended Anyaso for his consistent interventions, community engagement and commitment to the welfare of the people of Ugwueke. 
They noted that his contributions had made a meaningful impact on the community, stressing that their decision to support him was informed by his lrelationship with the people and record of engagement beyond political considerations.
The women subsequently pledged to stand firmly behind Anyaso as political activities gather momentum ahead of the 2027 election for Bende Federal Constituency.
Responding, Anyaso expressed appreciation to the women for the honour and gesture of goodwill, describing their support as an encouragement to continue serving the people.
He reaffirmed his commitment to the welfare and development of Ugwueke and the entire Bende Federal Constituency, promising to sustain his engagement with the people and support initiatives that promote community development.
