Izeze Holds 2nd Edition of Annual Party for Ughelli South Children
The Majority Whip of the Delta State House of Assembly and member representing Ughelli South Constituency Hon. Barr. Reuben Rume Izeze has proved critics wrong by fulfilling his promise to make the Izeze children party for the children of Ughelli South LGA a yearly affair.
Hon Izeze has successfully held the second edition of the party which held at Okpare-Olomu in Ughelli South Local Government Area of Delta State.
The event, which is the second in the series, featured several dance competition as well as presentation of gift items to the children who attended the party in their numbers. The children drawn from the various wards in the LGA were in high spirits as soon as the Hon. Izeze and his team arrived the venue of the party.
In his speech, Com. Izeze said the children’s party was a brain child of Team Izeze, his campaign organization and he has since vowed to continue holding the party for the children of Ughelli South, every first Sundays of the year till he leaves public office.
As part of the mentoring of the children, the lawmaker advised the children to take their studies very serious and to respect their parents and elders if they are to be successful like him.
“You can’t be a lawyer like me if you don’t take your studies serious, in the same vein, you can’t be a lawmaker like me if you don’t respect your parents and your elders.” He added.
High point of the occasion was the presentation of scholarship to eight children who came tops in the children dancing competition by Chief Amos Itihwe, DESOPADEC Commissioner representing Ughelli South, Udu, Uvwie, and Urhobos of Warri South on the board of DESOPADEC.
The children who won in the dancing, beauty, questions and answer
competitions were also presented with Com. Izeze branded notebooks, school bags and other gift items to commemorate the occasion.
The party also featured race competition by parents of the children while various gift items were also presented to the winners.
Hon Izeze and other invited guests thereafter danced with the children and also performed the symbolic cutting of cake to mark the second edition of the children’s party.
The party was attended by Commissioner Representing, Ughelli South, Udu, Uvwie and Urhobos of Warri South on the Board of DESOPADEC, Chief Amos Itihwe, Chairman Izeze Campaign Organization, Barr. Edewor Ononemu, Chief Godwin Sito, among others.
