The highest-ranking elected Republican in the United States,
Speaker Paul D. Ryan has said he was “not ready” to endorse Donald J. Trump as Republican standard bearer in the country’s forthcoming presidential election.
Ryan said on Thursday he was “not ready” to endorse Trump as the presumptive Republican nominee may not have met the party’s standard.
Ryan, who is also chairman of the Republican National Convention, has repeatedly said he would support his party’s nominee.
But he has carved out some terrain to differentiate himself, by insisting that House Republicans write their own policy agenda this year and by giving speeches that at times criticized Trump’s views.
Ryan opined that the Republicans needed a “standard-bearer” who embodied the party’s standards.
Trump has been one of the most controversal aspirant in the Republican’s bid to take over power from the ruling Democrats.http://thestreetreporters.com/?p=5506The Street Reporters Newspaper is your BREAKING NEWS platform.
