Nike Lake Resort Hotel, Enugu Team Wont Disappoint – Madueke

Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi of Enugu State, Tuesday, inaugurated the seven-member Board of Directors of Nike Lake Resort Hotel, Enugu, tasking them to work with the management of the hotel to restore its past glory.

It would be recalled that a few days ago, Gov. Ugwuanyi appointed a seven-member Board of Directors of the Nike Lake Resort Hotel, headed by Dame (Barr.) Ugochi Madueke.

Other members of the Board, The Street Reporters Newspaper gathered, are Barr. Francis Nnamani, Jude Chijioke Ugwu, Chris Ezema, Engr. Okechukwu Michael Igbonekwu, Mrs. Uche Onwuzu and HRH Igwe (Engr.) Chukwudi Ejeh.

Inaugurating the Board, Gov. Ugwuanyi noted that the hotel as a flagship asset of the Enugu State Government, with beautiful and serene ambience complemented by a natural perennial lake, “is like no other and its capability for offering the comfort of home, away from home, is without doubt”.

The governor disclosed that his administration in its concerted effort to improve the infrastructure of the hotel has invested a lot of resources in the restoration of power management system “and is currently implementing turnaround maintenance of the hotel water facility and plumbing works to return the hotel to full functionality”.

He added that his administration plans to commence a comprehensive but gradual rehabilitation of other infrastructure of the hotel to return the great heritage to profitability, stressing that “it is expected that the incoming Board of Directors, populated with persons of proven competence, will work with the hotel management to restore its past glory”.

Gov. Ugwuanyi therefore urged members of the Board to rise to the occasion and fulfill the expectations of the state government and people of the state regarding the hotel.

Responding on behalf of other members, the Chairman, Dame (Barr.) Madueke, thanked Gov. Ugwuanyi for finding them worthy to pilot the affairs of the hotel and promised that the team, which she tagged “Save Nike Lake Team” will not disappoint him.

“I promise that in no distant time, by the grace of God, your dream for Nike Lake Resort Hotel will start materializing”, she said.
