At least, 1.5 million students write the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) every year, but only a fraction of that number successfully gained admission into either University, Polytechnic or College of Education.

This is not to say UTME is bad, but trying to point out that students, just like every other people, have an alternative way to achieve their academic goal. Yes, you can bypass UTME and still gain admission into a school, where you have the opportunity of fulfilling your goal.
