Over 8500 Households in Funtua Zone Benefit in 5th Phase of Palliative Distribution in Katsina State

Over eight thousand five hundred households will benefit with COVID-19 palliatives provided by the Katsina State Government in eleven local government areas of Funtua zone.

The State House of Assembly Deputy Speaker, Shehu Dalhatu Tafoki, who is the Chairman of the distribution Committee in the zone, stated this during the flagging off of the fifth phase of the distribution exercise held at Funtua Local government Secretariat.

The Street Reporters Newspaper reports that he said five households will benefit from the gesture in each polling unit in the areas.

The Deputy Speaker maintained that only vulnerable households will benefit with palliatives emphasising that no committee member will be allowed to benefit.

Shehu Dalhatu Tafoki use the occasion to called on the people to continue praying for State to address insecurity bedevilling it.

In their separate remarks, members of the state House of Assembly representing, Bakori, Danja and Sabuwa Local government areas commanded the effort of the distribution Committee members for being fair and just in the previous exercise and charged them to maintain the tempo.

Also speaking the Special Adviser to the governor on political matters Rabi’u Idris called on the distribution committee members to be dedicate and objectives in the discharge of their duties and beneficiaries not to sell the commodities.

In a vote of thanks the Sarkin Maska District head of Funtua, Sambo Idris Sambo, represented by Magaji Maƙera, expressed gratitude to the state government for providing the palliatives.

Last week palliative distribution to vulnerable households in Katsina North Senatorial District, otherwise referred to as the Daura senatorial zone was also flagged off, with no fewer than five vulnerable households in each ward benefiting from the gesture.

The palliatives include assorted grains and other commodities meant to alleviate the negative effects of COVID-19 pandemic on the socioeconomic well-being of the citizens.
