Ahead of the public presentation and launch of the book, “200 Most Outstanding Deltans”, the Asagba of Asaba, Obi (Prof.) Chike Edozien, has lauded the initiative, describing the book as “unique and historic.”
The traditional ruler also commended the compilers of the compendium for “diligently putting this together.”
Asagba spoke during a courtesy visit by the authors and members of the Planning Committee for the unveiling of the 228-page book.
The leader of the delegation and one of the compilers, Pastor Powell Tos, said they were at the palace to “intimate His Royal Majesty of this publication and formally invite you to its public presentation.”
He disclosed that Asaba featured the highest number of Professors and nominees per community in the about-to-be-unveiled book, noting that “Asaba is indeed blessed with prominent people.”
The book, “200 Most Outstanding Deltans,”, is a compendium comprising 200 nominees drawn from 20 fields of human endeavour.
According to the authors, it was conceived to, ostensibly, honour and celebrate the uncommon accomplishments of Deltans, particularly the living heroes. Its public presentation is billed for January 21 at Unity Hall, Government House, Asaba.
