Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, has congratulated the Obi of Owa Kingdom, His Royal Majesty, Dr. Emmanuel Efeizomor II, OON, on the occasion of his 67th coronation anniversary.
The Governor, in a goodwill message issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Sir Festus Ahon, described the long-serving monarch as an accomplished custodian of the traditional institution whose reign has been marked by peace, stability and sustained development of Owa Kingdom.
Oborevwori commended the monarch for his unwavering commitment to the unity, peace and progress of his people, as well as his significant contributions to the development of Delta State.
He particularly praised the Obi for promoting peaceful coexistence among communities and for maintaining a constructive relationship with successive administrations in the state in pursuit of the collective interests of the people.
The Governor also recalled the monarch’s tenure as Chairman of the Delta State Council of Traditional Rulers, saying his wealth of experience, wisdom and counsel contributed significantly to strengthening the relationship between traditional institutions and government.
According to him, the 67th anniversary of the monarch’s coronation is not only a celebration of longevity on the throne but also an opportunity to acknowledge decades of dedicated service, leadership and contributions to the welfare of the people.
“On behalf of the Government and people of Delta State, I warmly celebrate with our revered father, His Royal Majesty, Dr. Emmanuel Efeizomor II, OON, the Obi of Owa Kingdom, on the auspicious occasion of his 67th coronation anniversary.
“Your Majesty’s remarkable journey on the throne has been characterised by wisdom, peace, stability and an unwavering commitment to the welfare of your people.
“This milestone is a testament to your enduring service and exemplary leadership. I pray that God Almighty will continue to grant you good health, strength and many more years of purposeful reign,” the Governor said.
Oborevwori expressed appreciation for the monarch’s enduring service to Owa Kingdom and Delta State, praying that God would continue to preserve him in sound health, wisdom and strength for many more years.
He also urged the people of Owa Kingdom to continue to honour, respect and support their monarch, while preserving the kingdom’s rich cultural heritage and working collectively towards a peaceful and prosperous future.
