….Hails APC National Caretaker Committee

A group of youth leaders under the aegis of the All Progressives Congress Active Youths Forum (APC – AYF) has called on Nigerian youths to join partician politics as their role in leadership is vital for the rehabilitation and revitalisation of the country.

The National Coordinator of the Forum and the Chief Host of the event, Amb. Abubakar Aliyu Mahmud made the call in his address at Forum’s maiden national conference held on Saturday, February 5, 2022, at Abatete Guest House, Abuja.

He thanked President Muhammadu Buhari “for his indefatigable and tireless efforts to revitalise and rehabilitate Nigeria from the great devastation over the past years.

“Indeed, God Almighty has answered our prayers and blessed us with him as a President for two tenures and in the these two tenures, he has been committed to security, fighting corruption and rebuilding the economy.

“These are the three basic promises made by President Buhari during his 2015 general elections campaigns”, he said.

He said President Muhammadu Buhari has demonstrated that he has the Nigerian youths in his mind by the appointment of a youth as the head of a serious and sensitive agency like the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

“I also thank him for keeping Nigerian youths in his mind and including them in governance”, noting that since his appointment, the new EFCC chairman has proven that he is a capable hand representing the youths well from what he has been doing for the country in the ongoing fight against corruption.

Amb. Mahmud added that “You will agree with me if we go back in history to see what happened in the second republic in Nigeria”, saying that Nigeria made great strides during the era “and the key players were young people.”

He then hailed the Caretaker National Chairman of the APC, Governor Mai Mala Buni of Yobe State, and his colleagues for “uniting the party” and “restoring peace and prestige“ to the APC, which will help the party to win all the states of the Federation in the forthcoming general elections in 2023, from the President down to the councillors.

“I pray that God will help them”, he prayed.

According to him, the forum is one of the most active APC support groups in Nigeria with members across the 774 local governments in the country.

While calling on the APC youths to come out and contest in the forthcoming national convention of the party, he said “the youths have major roles to play and have full chances… and have significant roles in taking the party to the next level”.

Consequently, Amb. Mahmud maintained that the solutions to most of the National challenges facing the country are in the hands of the youth.
