His Royal Majesty, Eze Williams Ezugwu, the Eze Ogbozarra III of Opi Ancient Kingdom and the Eze Ka Eze 1 of Ideke land, Nsukka in Enugu State, has paid a condolence visit to the new Attah Igala, Attah Mathew Alaji Opaluwa Oguche Akpa, over the death of his brother and his son.

The new Attah Igala lost his elder brother, Prince Samuel Ogwuche Akpa to the cold hands of death about ten days to the official installation and presentation of staff of office to the monarch by the Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello.

The deceased prince, it was learnt, was sighted in the palace of Attah Igala, in the ancestral headquarters of Igala kingdom at Idah a day before his demise, hale and hearty where he was cracking jokes with his junior brother to the admiration of all.

“He died in his mid 60s after a day illness at Idah. The sad event occurred in the evening of Monday the 21st of February 2022”, a source from the palace had told newsmen.

The late Prince was said to have also contested for the throne but lost out in the race.

However, a day to the final installation of the new Attah Igala, it was gathered that he, again, lost his nine-month-old son.

His Royal Majesty, Eze Williams Ezugwu, who was at the recent official installation and presentation of Staff of Office to the new monarch at in a colourful display by his cabinet and a delegation from Nsukka, visited the Palace of the new Attah Igala on Sunday to condole the royal family over their losses.
