Inibehe Effiong was remanded at the Uyo Medium Security Custodial Center on the orders of Mma Ekaette, the acting Chief Judge of Akwa Ibom State for a month.

Journalist and rights activist Agba Jalingo is a message early Friday recalled that Barrister Inibehe has completed his one month remand ordered by the Chief Judge of the state “and he is to be freed from the facility today, but they don’t want him out yet.

“They had asked him to leave silently at 6:00AM but he refused”, Jalingo said.

According to him, Barrister Inibehe told the correctional authorities that the world knew when he was sent in and the world must know as he is stepping out.”

Lawyers and comrades are waiting at the custodial facility at the time of this report.

Recall that the Acting state Chief Judge had denied the lawyer a certified true copy of her ruling on contempt allegation against the young lawyer, which made it impossible for Barrister Inibehe to appeal against her ruling.
