Int’l Workers’ Day: Senator Uche Ekwunife Eulogizes Nigerian Workers
As workers across the globe celebrate International Workers’ Day, the Director-General of the South East Governors Forum, Senator Uche Ekwunife has extended her warmest congratulations to Nigerian workers, especially those in the South East, for their invaluable contributions to the economic and social development of the region and the nation at large.
In a statement signed by her Special Adviser on Media and Strategic Communication, Tony Ezike, Senator Uche Ekwunife spoke while marking the 2024 International Workers’ Day, with the theme; ‘Ensuring Safety And Health At Work In A Changing Climate’.
She commended the resilience, passion, and unwavering commitment of all Nigerian workers.
Senator Ekwunife highlighted their role as the backbone of the economy, emphasizing that without their dedication and hard work, no government could achieve its objectives or meet its development goals.
“As the world observes International Workers’ Day, I wish to commend and enjoin all workers, particularly those in the South East, to continue being productive and committed to their duties.
“It is important to note that hard work, teamwork and exchange of useful information are all we need to elevate the South East geopolitical zone to greater heights and contribute to the progress of the nation.
“I am delighted to congratulate all our dedicated, esteemed and productive workers in both the public and private sectors. Your contributions are the engine that drives the success of our economy.
“Without you, no government can achieve its vision for national development, so it is imperative for government at all levels to prioritize and focus on ensuring safety and health of our highly priced workers in view of the changing climate.
“It is common knowledge that Nigerian workers are the threads that hold our society together, providing the strength and stability that are essential for growth. I appreciate all workers for their patience, perseverance, and dedication to advancing the South East region and Nigeria as a whole.
