As Ramadan commences, Hon. Aminu Mu’azu Maifata, Commissioner for Local Governments and Rural Development in Nasarawa State has called on Muslims to embark on a profound journey of self-discovery, spiritual renewal, and divine connection. Maifata’s message which was by his Lafia media office, emphasizes the importance of sincere fasting, prayer, and charity, urging Muslims to let the responsibilities connect with their souls.
Said the Hon. Commissioner, “This sacred period presents an opportunity that encourages Muslims to transcend physical fasting and undertake a holistic fast that encompasses the heart, mind, and soul.” He reminds them that the true essence of fasting lies in the pursuit of spiritual growth and self-purification.
Continuing, “As the Honourable Commissioner in charge of local government, where the majority of rural Muslims live with Christians, let this message serve as a powerful and timely reminder of the importance of unity, love, and compassion strategically renewed this period”. He urges Muslims and Christians to come together, recognizing their shared humanity and collective quest for spiritual growth in the state.
Maifata also commended the efforts of Governor Abdullahi A. Sule in promoting peace and harmony in Nasarawa State, saying, “The governor’s leadership has been instrumental in fostering a sense of unity and cooperation among the people of Nasarawa State, and we are grateful for his commitment to the well-being of our citizens”
“As Nasarawa State has continued to make progress under His Excellency Governor A.A Sule, it has been a huge harvest of transformative journey that we must all support,” Maifata pointed out that the vision of His Excellency is one of a harmonious and prosperous Nasarawa society, where Muslims and Christians work together to build a brighter future for all and must be supported.
