The political atmosphere in Kogi State is taking a new turn as the Kogi East Zonal Chairman of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), Hon. Gambo Yahaya, has announced his decision to collapse his structure and return to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
In a statement issued by the Press Secretary to the Deputy Governor, Mr Unubi Emmanuel, Hon. Gambo made his intention known on Thursday, during a visit to Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo at the Government House, Lokoja, where he was warmly received. 
Led to the meeting by the Deputy Governor, His Excellency Comrade Joel Salifu, the former SDP leader said his decision was driven by the good leadership style of Governor Ododo and the visible development strides across the state.
He commended the Governor for his inclusive governance and expressed readiness to work with the APC family to work for the progress of Kogi State, particularly the Eastern Senatorial District.
Governor Ododo, in his response, welcomed Hon. Gambo Haruna’s move, describing it as a reflection of the people’s growing confidence in his administration, and urged him to be loyal and contributory to the success of the party.
