Osun’s financial Crisis: Civil society storms National Assembly
Over 5,000 indigines of Osun state under the umbrella of Civil Societies Coalition for Emancipation of Osun State (CSCEO) is set to stage a peaceful rally at the National Assembly, Abuja on Tuesday over alleged maladministration and mis-governance of the state public funds by the government of Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola.
In a statement by the Chairman of the group, Comrade Adeniyi Sulaiman, “the rally becomes necessary due to the current financial mess the state is now facing over the “minus-allocation” of funds being received by Aregbesola’s government from the Federation Account”.

He explained that those that will participate in the rally are members of the Coalescing group from all the 30 local government areas of the state.
CSCEO members, Sulaiman said, included “The Voices, KIMPACT, Centre for Human Rights and Social Justice, Grassroots Democratic Network, Christian Initiative for Nation Building, Christian Leadership Mobilization and Better Future Initiative”.
Others, are “Centre for Social Justice and Equity of Nigeria (CESJEN), Development and Peace Movement (DPM), Positive Movement (PM), Good Governance Support Group, Coalition of Osun Youth Group (CSYG), Conference of Nigeria Political Parties (CNPP) and Christian Leadership Mobilisation Initiatives (CLMI)”.
