Reps Minority Leader Donates Security Vans To Vigilant Groups

Security Vans 1In the bid to ensure that the Isoko nation is a guaranteed crime-free society, the minority leader and member representing Isoko federal constituency in the National Assembly, Hon. Leo Ogor has donated 12 new Hilux security vans worth several millions of Naira to community vigilant groups within Isoko federal constituency.

The vehicles which are equipped with security appliances to enhance the security of lives and property in the communities within the two local government areas that make up the federal constituency where released to the President Generals of the various communities that benefited from the empowerment program on Easter day.

While addressing the community vigilante group that where present, The Divisional Police Officer of Ozoro, Mr. Paul Ibegbu charged them to put the vans into proper use and work collectively with the police to achieve the purpose of the gesture. He also described the initiative as a welcome development in the constituency and praised the federal lawmaker for his benevolent heart.Security Vans 2

Speaking with reporters in Ozoro, Isoko North Local Government Area on what informed the priority attention he accorded to community vigilant group, Ogor noted that the security of lives and property in Isoko federal constituency and Nigeria should not be left in the hands of government alone.

Ogor said,  while handover the vehicles: There is something I saw which pricked my mind in Isoko. When development and expansion are going on in the communities, there seems to be security challenges therefore the need to set up vigilant group.”

“Security of lives and properties is not an issue of where and what you belong, the vigilantes took responsibility of protecting lives and protects while others are sleeping. I decided to support the various community vigilant group with vehicles to enhance their operations.

Earlier the President General of Isoko Development Union Chief Iduh Amadhe commended the effort of the donor and equally charge other Isoko elective and political appointee to emulate his gesture.
