A movement of new Igbo vision within the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), under the aegis of Igbo APC in Jigawa State, comprising of Ndigbo in the All Progressive Congress (APC) has called for an end to disunity among Ndigbo in Jigawa State, expressing support for the developmental efforts of the Governor of Jigawa State, Muhammad Badaru Abubakar.
The Igbo group described  style of leadership as excellent in prudent management of resources in the State.
The Street Reporters gathered that this was part of their resolutions after a recent stakeholders meeting of Igbos in APC in Dutse, the state capital.
The Chairman of Igbo APC, Rev Offodile Igwesi Orient while tasking Igbos on unity, oneness of purpose and industry, asked them to throw weight behind the developmental achievements of Governor Badaru.
He also expressed optimism that the entire politically motivated crisis tearing Nigeria apart will be resolved on a round table and believes that President Buhari can win the war on corruption if given necessary support. They also released a press statement to that effect.
Members of Igbo Mandate Congress IMC in Jigawa State have earlier informed the leadership of the group that the action of Rev Igwesi and Igbo APC have brought some levels of cooperation among the non-indgenes in the State.
Rev Igwesi , as leader of Ohanaeze Ndigbo, Jigawa State, was among those earlier mobilized by Igbo Mandate Congress (IMC) and Ohanaeze in the 19 Northern States to ensure support for some APC Governors in the North on account of their good relationship with the Igbo Communities, Badaru inclusive.
However, disunity among Igbos in the state have hampered critical progress and IMC have expressed support for any initiative that will bring back the soul of the people together.
Therefore, the group call on Ndigbo “to re-establish the harmonious relationship, formally existing between the core Igbo States and all State Welfare Associations, as well as the umbrella body, Igbo Community Association (I C A).
“This call is to enable them enjoy the goodwill of the State Government and their host communities.
“We urge Ndigbo in Dutse, to eschew bitterness and avoid disintegrating among them, but to be united as a force to be reckoned”, the group said.
They added that “The acrimony that has created leadership divisions within the organization of Ndigbo in Jigawa State, and the impression that Ndigbo in Jigawa State are at loggerheads within them over leadership.
“The giant efforts of the incumbent State Governor, Alhaji Muhammad Badaru Abubakar, in his determination to ensure the diversification of Jigawa State economy, through creating support for the poor and vulnerable population has also attracted our attention in Igbo APC.
“His Vigorous actions geared towards industrialization are borne out of his pedigree, going back to his business management expertise, and as a formal Chairman of Nigerian Chambers of Commerce.
“This quality accounts for his excellent and prudent management of the State’s economy, without records of unpaid backlog of the State’s civil servants’ salaries as prevalent in many other States in the Federation, despite the current economic challenges in the country.
“With these outstanding qualities of the Governor, Igbo APC Jigawa State, expresses high optimism that the State and its inhabitants will soon begin to reap the benefits of the grass-roots and people-oriented programmes and projects of the State Government.
These policies are expected to have positively huge impact on commercial and other key sectors of the State’s economy”, they observed.
“We are proud to be associated with the State Government, because of the Governor’s commitment which is geared towards ending the protracted non-sound industrial base in the State.
“We pledge our commitment and contribution to supporting these noble objectives of the State Government in anywhere, the Governor deems it necessary towards moving the State to its greater height.
“Especially, liaising with Igbo business experts within and outside Jigawa State, to come and invest in medium and small scale enterprises in the State, as well as liaising directly with other ethnic nationalities in the State, to strengthening the socio-economic sector of the State and to uplifting the strength of our great party, ALL Progressive Congress (APC)”, the group pledged.
