How PDP’s Iteire Won Isoko North Council Chairmanship

The Delta State Independent Electoral Commission (DSIEC) on Saturday declared Christian Iteire, the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, winner of Saturday’s Chairmanship election in Isoko North Local Government Area of Delta state.

The Returning Officer for the election, Felix Omoruwou, announced in Ozoro, the local government headquarters, that Mr. Iteire polled 82,330 votes to beat his closest rival, Cornelius Ugoh of the All Progressives Congress APC, who got 2,235 votes.

“Iteire, having won the highest votes in the elections, which was contested and having satisfied the provisions of the law is hereby returned as winner and Chairman-elect for Isoko North,” he declared.

He announced that Isoko North had 129,921 registered voters and 87,407 accredited voters.

He said the exercise recorded 85,133 valid votes while 734 votes were rejected.
