Ibom 2021 Engineering Week: NSE Uyo Branch Thanks God For Protecting Members
….. Invites Everyone to Participate
It was an atmosphere of praise, worship and celebration at Methodist Church Nigeria No. 69 Udomana Street, Uyo in Cross River State as members of the Nigerian Society of Engineers, Uyo Branch gathered in a Thanksgiving Service to return glory to the Almighty God for the gift of life.
The Thanksgiving Service which was part of the activities to mark Ibom 2021 Engineering Weeks/Conference also provided and ample opportunity for the Chairman Nigerian Society of Engineers, Uyo Branch, Engr. Ukeme Okpob MNSE to thank God for the successful achievements recorded by his administration.
Expressing his gratitude to the Almighty God, Engr. Okpob said that many may not understand what Engineers are passing through in different project sites and the effort they put to make the world a better place for all.
He stressed that the Thanksgiving is basically to return all glory to the Almighty God for protecting the lives of all Engineers in NSE Uyo Branch.
“We are here to celebrate and thank God for his infinite grace and love towards the lives of all Engineers in Nigerian Society of Engineers, Uyo Branch”, he said.
Okpob noted that God has been faithful to him by giving him wisdom and understanding to lead all Engineers in NSE Uyo Branch with innovative ideas, progrmames and projects that have promoted the narrative of the Branch, thereby making the branch known and appreciated by the people.
He added that his administration has recorded tremendous successes through the grace of God and the effort, cooperation and support of all Engineers in the NSE Uyo Branch, insisting that he will continue to make giant strides for more successes to be recorded before his tenure elapses.
Okpob specifically thanked God for the lives of all Senior Engineers, Executive Committee Members (EXCO), Fellows of the Society, members of the Nigerian Society of Engineers as well as retired Engineers in NSE Uyo Branch.
He requested the Church to endeavour to include Nigerian Society of Engineers, Uyo Branch in prayers, thanking the Church for the opportunity given to Engineers to join them in worshipping God.
Inviting the Church to Ibom 2021 Engineering Week/Conference, the Vice Chairman of NSE Uyo Branch, Engr. Uwem Akpan said “the week started on Saturday 24th July, 2021 with road walk exercise and football match, today is for thanksgiving service here at Methodist Church, 67 Udo Umana Street, Uyo, Monday is for industrial tour, Tuesday is for radio/tv talk, Wednesday is for Opening and ground breaking Ceremony at Ibom Hall Ground, IBB Avenue, Uyo, Thursday is for project site inspection and Friday is dinner/ award night.”
In a short homily, the President of Uyo Diocese of Methodist Church Nigeria, Barr. Edidiong Ebong admonished Parents to encourage their children to participate in church activities involving the youth and to train their children in the way of the Lord.
Barr. Ebong who preached on the role of parent in molding children said Schools and churches play secondary role in bringing up a child, while parents, family and guidance play primary role which he further described as the key factors in building a child to grow properly into the society.
He stressed that parent must not leave their primary responsibility to teachers and must make wider investigations on some questionable characters of their children with a bold step to discipline a child from dubious lifestyle, saying that God is interested to know the reaction of parents on any child who goes astray.
Barr. Ebong appealed to the elders to help the youth to grow, calling on prominent members of the church to connect others to various places of opportunities for more blessings and societal development.
The Presbyter of Methodist church Nigeria 69 Udoumana, Very Rev John Ndak however prayed for sound health, divine blessings and protections upon the lives of all members of the Nigerian Society of Engineers, Uyo Branch and acknowledge their contributions in making the world a better place for peaceful coexistence
At the event were Senior Engineers, Executive Committee Members (EXCO), Fellows of the Society, members of the Nigerian Society of Engineers, retired Engineers in NSE Uyo Branch as well as other Engineers from other Branches.

Akwa Ibom State Governor gave an instruction to the NYSC State Coordinator to post all engineering graduates to the class room which is against COREN directives and till now, NSE Uyo chapter is doing nothing about this. Could it be that this chapter branch has been bribed to keep quiet?
