He stressed that the essence of the programme was to build the student’s business acumen, upscale their entrepreneurial drive and thereafter have a business identity.

The commissioner, who cited examples while addressing the students, said that “We are here for students like you, who have some businesses already running or intending, with an exceptional ability to expand their businesses. We are here to guide you.”

According to him, “An entrepreneur can employ a skilled man,” even as he urged the students to be flexible in their knowledge.

He revealed that TEP was designed for state government owned schools, where the mindset of the students would be redirected to drop social vices while those with exceptional business initiatives who had been selected would be sent to boot camps to be trained in a master class for two week period.

He emphasised that there would be a bench mark on their cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA).

In their separate remarks, the Vice Chancellors, Delta State University, Abraka, Professor Andy Egwunyenga, and the University of Delta Agbor, Professor Stella Chiemeke, lauded the state governor, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa, for his uncommon initiatives for youth development in the state and pledged the readiness of the institutions to support the programme.
