Rivers Police Dismiss Reports of Exhumed LGA Chairman’s Corpse

…As Rivers LG Chair Reportedly Succumbed to Coronavirus

Rivers State Police Command have dismissed reports that the body of the chairman of Asari-Toru Local Government Council, Odiari Princewill, which was buried at the Port Harcourt Cemetery on Thursday, was exhumed on Friday by unknown gunmen.

Public Relations Officer, DSP Nnamdi Omoni who led Journalists to the Port Harcourt Cemetery on Saturday to the grave, where the Late chairman was buried said the report was untrue.

The Street Reporters Newspaper gathered that he urged members of the public to disregard it.

Recalled that reports circulating on social media Friday had it that unknown gunmen allegedly stormed the Cemetery and exhumed the body of the late ASALGA boss to give him a befitting burial in Buguma, headquarters of the Local Government, as a chief in Kalabari Kingdom.

The Late Council chairman was said to have died of Covid-19 on Wednesday.
