In a groundbreaking moment for education and nation-building, the Honourable Minister of Defence, H.E. Mohammed Badaru Abubakar CON, mni, hailed the Defence and Police Officers’ Wives Association (DEPOWA) College Project as a transformative initiative during its ground-breaking and fundraising ceremony in Abuja. Calling the event a “historic milestone,” Minister Badaru applauded DEPOWA for its visionary leadership in fostering progress through this noble endeavor.
The proposed DEPOWA College is designed to serve as a sanctuary of hope, discipline, and academic excellence for the children of Nigeria’s dedicated military and police personnel. Emphasizing the foundational role of education in societal advancement, Minister Badaru remarked, “Education is the bedrock of societal progress. This college will honor the sacrifices of our brave service members while nurturing a generation capable of sustaining peace, unity, and prosperity in Nigeria.”
Reaffirming the Ministry’s unyielding support, Minister Badaru called on all stakeholders—including government agencies, corporate bodies, and individuals—to rally behind the initiative. “The Ministry of Defence pledges its full commitment to ensuring the timely completion of this project. Let us contribute generously to alleviate the educational burdens of service families and build a future of patriotic innovators and leaders.”
