As part of effort to strengthen the operational capacity of Police Tactical operatives from the Zamfara State Police Command participating in different operations across the state, the state the Commissioner of Police, CP Ayuba N. Elkanah has embarked on an operational tour to locations in the state.
He commenced the operational tour of inspection to locations yesterday with a visit to where the Police Tactical operatives attached to Operation Puff Adder were deployed along Gusau – Mayanci – Maradun – Talata Mafara and Bakura axis.
In a statement signed by the state police command’s spokesman, SP Mohammed Shehu, on behalf of the command, explained that the purpose of the visit was to assess their operational capacity and make appropriate adjustments that will enhance their operational efficiency.
He noted that during the operational visit, the Commissioner of Police charged the operatives to be professionally alive to their responsibility.
According to him, the Commissioner of Police further urged them to take their personal safety very paramount so that members of the communities can be adequately protected against the activities of recalcitrant bandits and other criminal elements.
The Commissioner of Police while commending the commitment and resilience of the Operatives enjoined them to always remain good ambassadors of the Nigeria Police, through hard work and dedication to duty, and also improve their working synergy with other security agencies and host communities.
The CP assured them that the Inspector General of Police IGP Alkali Usman Baba is aware of their commitment in the ongoing Operations against criminal elements and called on them to sustain the tempo while the IGP and his management team are working tirelessly to improve their welfare. The CP warned them against unprofessional conduct.
The Commissioner of Police while on operational tour visited some critical stakeholders such as Emirs of Maradun, Bakura and Talata Mafara.
The idea, the statement added, was to strengthen the existing collaboration with Police Partners in crime management and control, so that the ongoing effort to rid the State of all activities of criminal elements can be achieved.
SP Mohammed Shehu disclosed that the Operational Tour of Inspection will be replicated to other locations in the state.
