Tinubu @ 72: Civil Socities Say Hope for Better Nigeria Rising in All Sectors

Civil society organisations, under the umbrella of the Coalition of Pro-Democracy Groups for A Better Nigeria, have said that hope for a better country rising in all sectors in Nigeria.

In a birthday message to celebrate President Bola Ahmed Tinubu who clocked 72 years, and signed on behalf of the coalition by its National Coordinator, Comrade Awa Bamiji, the civil society bodies yesterday raised their voice in concert “to celebrate our Triumph over the forces of tyranny and oppression under your able leadership as foremost Ambassador of Civil Socities with the above achievements and many more to come.”

Saying that “indeed, Renewed Hope is here and it is gradually working”, the coalition itemised what it described as “Mr President Giant Strides”.

According to the coalition, “President Tinubu has switched payment for Crude Oil sales to Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), away from the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL).

“President has been able to pay back some of the loans owed to China, India, America among others”, adding that “Relief as Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) cleared $7 Billion forex backlog”, “CBN: Nigeria’s economy records over $1.5bn inflow”, “He imposed 3 – month ban on foreign trips for Ministers, MDA Heads, Others to reduce administrative cost”.

Also included as the giant strides of the President was “the rate of Naira to Dollar has continued to decline for the first time ever in both official market and parallel (BDC) market translating to improvement in economy”, “Moribound Porthhaircourt Refinery is fully back to work to our collective pride”, and that the “President has equally launched the Student loan Scheme yesterday which will commence soonest cos all measures have been put in place to ensure it gets to Nigerians who are yearning for University Education. The Executive Secretary of the Student loan Scheme gave a detailed explanation on it this morning 12th March, 2024 on Channels TV. He also reiterated that the student loan website will be released for suitable applicants to apply online in no distant time.”

The coalition noted that President Tinubu “has equally signed an M.O.U. with the President of Russia to build a nuclear power plant for Nigeria in order to get stable electricity. The said nuclear power plant will take effect on the 3rd of July, 2024 in Warri Delta State which will serve the entire 36 States of the Federation including the F.C.T.”

The civil society organisations said “President Bola Tinubu has also signed a bill passed by the National Assembly to start paying the vulnerable, aged and unemployed graduates certain amount of money on monthly basis which will definitely kick start soon.

“As we are all aware, he has been able to recover Trillions of money stolen by both civil servants and politicians of the past Administration.

“President Bola Tinubu has approved Kano – Lagos narrow rail express service. It will help farmers to move their goods and aid quick products export from the hinterland.

“President has secured a financial partner from EDIB Hong Kong to develop the $27.29bn Escravos Seaport Industrial Complex. This project is located in Escravos (Gbaramatu Island/ Omadino).

“President Bola Tinubu has provided a written confirmation of a new era Free Trade Zone, with a workable financial model 99 years’ concession. Build, own, operate, and transfer Delta State to provide 31,000 hectares of land.

“President Tinubu and the EISC deep sea port. This port will service all inland ports along River Niger.
It’s called “River Niger Canal Project,” in partnership with Suez Canal Authority. This Canal/International Marine highway project is a 600kms ESIC seaport that runs to Baro port. This project will open up the canal to a depth of 10m to enable it to take vessels up to 100,000 metric tons.

“He promised to continue embracing constructive criticisms from patriotic Citizens and Residents of Nigeria as well as those in diaspora and assured terrorists of Hell on Earth.

“We raise our voice in concert Today, Friday, 29 March, 2024, to celebrate our Triumph over the forces of Tyranny and Oppression under your able leadership as foremost Ambassador of Civil Socities with the above achievements and many more to come.

“In deed, Renewed Hope Is Here And It Is Gradually Working!”, the coalition said.
