New ALGON DG, Hon Itiako Ikpokpo, Resumes Duty At Headquarters Abuja, Pledges To Invigorate the Association
The new Director-General (DG) of the Association of Local Governments of Nigeria (ALGON), Hon Itiako Ikpokpo, has formally resumed duties, wednesday, with a call for stronger ties among members of staff to drive a purposeful association.
He made the call on assumption of office during his meeting with management and staff of the Association.
Hon Ikpokpo also called for support for his policy direction while promising to work with them with team-spirit.
He observed that world over, a well disciplined human capital in a workplace environment is a precursor to maximum productivity, pledging retraining, reorientation and reward for responsiveness to ethical principles to entrench a highly motivated service delivery in ALGON with particular reference to staff welfare.
The DG noted that an innovative Association like ALGON would no doubt, help in supporting the government agenda to rebuild the economy and other deliverables especially at the rural level where issues of insecurity, hunger, poverty and other economic gaps have been inhibiting growth.
He enjoined members of staff to arling their intelligence and experience with result objectives to achieve the policy direction of new National President Hon Aminu Mu’azu Maifata and the vision of the DG for a prosperous ALGON, imploring them to management and staff to ensure that the first contact of the 3Tier of government and as workers of the association, they ensure respect for laid down rules and zero tolerance to insubordination.

Hon Ikpokpo, who is a serial experienced entrepreneur and a two-term Executive Chairman of Isoko South Local Government Area in Delta State, enjoined members of staff to arling their intelligence and experience with result objectives to achieve the policy direction of the new DG while imploring the management and staff to ensure that the association is better served with respect, dignity and laid down rules devoid of insubordination which will not be tolerated.
